Join our dynamic development team as the Development Services Manager to manage the League’s donor information systems department, including database management, reporting, and gift administration. As the Manager, you supervise two dynamo members of your team.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS:

Data Management and Development Services:
• Administers data management systems to categorize and differentiate data for analysis, evaluation, solicitations, invitations, and inclusion in League activities
• Leads two team members; provides training, guidance, yearly goal settings and evaluations
• Supervises Raiser’s Edge training to staff, interns, volunteers and temporary staff
• Oversees and enhances documentation of database protocols and coding procedures
• Collaborates with development team: tracking, goals, list selection, solicitation materials, feedback, and strategy
• Works with key communications department to provide lists for publications/outreach
• Responsible for all analysis and reports for accounting and development departments
• Works with Finance department; manages auditing of donor records for accuracy and donor restrictions, refunds and other adjustments

Database Administration and Systems Oversight:
• Ensures the design, implementation, integrity, maintenance, and security of donor databases (Raiser’s Edge, Luminate Online, Wealth Engine, etc.) are highly developed and operational
• Researches, recommends and manages database projects such as integration, periodic software installation and upgrades, data mining projects
• Serves as a main contact to technology vendors for existing products and potential future vendors/technologies; performs contract negotiation
• Collaborates with IT support and/or vendors on issues and technical problems

Gift Entry and Acknowledgement:
• Supervises gift entry and timely production of all acknowledgements and donor stewardship
• Leads team to maintain and enhance high-quality donor stewardship, maximizing efficiency in the acknowledgement process

Member Services:
• Ensures all donor and general public interactions with the development services team are of the highest quality
• Works with donors who make gifts through stock transfers, donor-advised funds and other methods; ensures Development Department staff receive notice of these gifts in a timely manner

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Committed to the mission of Save the Redwoods League
• Minimum of two years’ experience managing employee performance and professional development
• Advanced level in database management, preferably using Raiser’s Edge; proficiency in MS Office
• Familiarity with online databases and resources relevant to position
• Proficiency in prospect research and data analysis preferred; knowledge of procedures related to identifying and rating donor prospects
• Ability to retrieve, analyze, and synthesize information gathered from varied sources
• Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills
• Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment, establish and monitor priorities, remain flexible, meet deadlines, and have fun

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT:
• Regularly sits or stands at a desk or computer workstation; moves about the office to collaborate with colleagues
• Occasionally lifts, carries, moves, and positions objects weighing up to 30 pounds
